IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: BENEFIT FOR THE VICTIMS OF THE ABRUZZO EARTHQUAKE
To Italy With Love… Earthquake Benefit
The tragic earthquake in early April hit close to home for many Italians in the Twin Cities, as many have roots and relatives in the L’Aquila area of Abruzzo, Italy. To help the rebuilding efforts and to aid the thousands left homeless, the Twin Cities Chapter of UNICO National, the oldest and largest Italian-American charitable service organization in the United States, will be hosting a pasta dinner and raffle with live entertainment on Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 11am to 5pm at DeGidio's Restaurant, 425 W 7th St, St. Paul. Ticket prices are adults: $15, children 6-12: $10, children 5 and under: free. All proceeds will be sent to this devastated region. The tickets have been printed and will be available at the Festival this weekend or please contact Dennis Damico (dennisdamico@comcast.net 651-264-1259) for tickets. Note: Gigi and Irene will perform at 2pm.
In 2009, we are featuring an Italian-American concert related to our 2009 Tour of Italy!
Selections in this concert will include pieces from Tosca (Puccini), La Forza Del Destino (Verdi), Stradella, Handel, Joncas, African-American Spirituals, and other contemporary sacred music by American composers. The concerts ends with "Climb Every Mountain" from the popular musical, "The Sound of Music" (Rodgers and Hammerstein).
Admission to the concerts is free. A free-will donation is always appreciated.
