MOMS Club® of Norwich, CT

Who we are:

Our club is one of over 40 in Connecticut. It was formed in November 2001 to cover the towns of Norwich, Montville, Oakdale, Uncasville, Bozrah, Griswold, Franklin, Jewett City, Lisbon, Versailles, Baltic, Voluntown and Preston. We are very excited you are visiting our page and hope you'll consider joining our club!! Children are welcome to attend all MOMS Club functions. All MOMS Club activities are planned for during the day, with the exception of MOMS Night Out. If you are interested in becoming a member, you can check us out by joining us on the first Friday of each month for our "Open Playdate" which is held at Ft. Shantok park or Mohegan Park (April-September) and the Crystal Mall Play area (October-March). We are led by our Executive Board which consists of our President, Membership Vice President, Administrative Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. We are also a 501c(3) non-profit organization that looks to serve our community in many ways. Membership costs $25 annually, but if you wish to join and are facing financial hardship, other arrangements can be made.

Additionally, we have recently instated an Associate Membership, which allows the member to participate in all "special events" (such as Trunk or Treat or Holiday Parties), Moms Night Out, and all summer activities. This is great for the member who has school aged kids that may need something to do during the summer! The membership is also offered at a reduced rate of $15 per year.

Our Activities

The Norwich MOMS Club members enjoy participating in a variety of activities. We are always looking for fun, exciting and educational things to do and see.

Child's Play
We currently have four play groups; Bouncing Babies (0-18mo), Toddler Fun (18mo-3 yrs), Preschool Play 3-5 and Big Kid Playgroup (6+). Other activities for the children include: Park playdates/picnics, stroller walks, Lunch Bunch, Storybook Cooks and Kids Crafts.

Field Trips
We love taking the kids on new adventures. Some that we have done or are planning include; Fire/Police Stations, Kid City Museum, Southeastern Connecticut Children's Museum, Nature's Art, Autumn Hayride, Berry/Apple Picking, Corn Maze Walk, and Roger Williams Zoo.

Clubs for Moms
Our members share many interests and hobbies. Because of this, we have created clubs that allow us to share our ideas, talents and knowledge. Our clubs include; Scrapbooking, Book Club, Walking Club, Recipe Exchange, Gardening and Letterboxing.

MOMS Night Out
Once a month we schedule a night out for moms. This can be a movie, dinner (restaurant or potluck), coffee & dessert, board games, a spa retreat, or casino night.

Meetings
Our monthly All Member Social is held during the third or fourth week of every month at varying locations across Norwich. The executive board meets during the first week of every month. This is an open meeting so if you are interested in checking us out or for more details about these meetings, please contact us.

Committees
As our membership grows, our needs as a club will grow too! There will be many opportunities for you to become an active member in one of our committees. Our current committees include: Welcome Committee, Helping Hands Committee, Election Committee and Service Committee.

Community Service
Part of belonging to the MOMS Club of Norwich is our dedication to providing quality community service projects. We will select charities and organizations that benefit the mothers and children in our community and will provide help in any way possible. One of our favorite service projects is called Warming the Homeless; we collect new or gently used coats, hats, mittens,scarves, blankets, snowsuits, boots and gloves and donate them to our local TVCCA. The kids love helping make the blankets and we aim to teach them to be caring, giving individuals and have had much success providing all of these items!
