Homemade Pound Cake
1 - cup butter, softened 2 1/2 -cups granulated sugar 6 - large eggs, room temp 3 - cups sifted cake flour (a must here) 1 - cup whipping cream 2 - teaspoons vanilla extract Beat butter until creamy, gradually add sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Add flour and whipping cream alternately, beginning and ending with flour. Pour into a greased and floured Bundt cake and bake at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let cool in pan about 5 minutes then remove and cool completely on a cooling rack. I have included a recipe for substituting cake flour with all purpose. I really recommend using the cake flour instead iit really makes this pound cake. Substitute for Cake Flour: l - cup minus 2 - tablespoons sifted all-purpose flour = l cup sifted cake flour |
