Modern Pterosaur

by Jonathan Whitcomb

My associates and I have explored on Umboi Island, Papua New Guinea, searching for a cryptid called "ropen."
The two expeditions of 2004 resulted in two sightings of the nocturnal flying creature; I was not one of the three
eyewitnesses, however. The three eyewitness of 2004 were Mark Kau (a village and island leader of Umboi),
Luke Kenda (my interpreter and body guard), and David Woetzel (an American cryptozoologist-explorer).

In more recent years, cryptozoologists have been searching for a similar creature, also believed to be a modern
pterosaur, in North America, including the West Coast of the United States.

Contrary to the beliefs of some critics, pterosaur extinction is not a proven fact; it is an assumption. And what the
critics portray as bias on the part of modern-pterosaur sighting investigators is simply a different philosophy; any
philosophy (including the philosophy of a critic of the concept of a modern-pterosaur) may be associated with a
bias, but the facts of the investigation should be examined before discounting all of the investigators.
