In Model United Nations we simulate different councils of the United Nations (e.g. Security Council, Human Rights Council). The  debates aim to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. In Model UN, participants take on roles as foreign diplomats and present their position on a current political topic. Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.

Model UN is all about learning negotiation and diplomatic skills, learning about current events, attending MUN conferences held at other universities, and the functions of UN and, alternatively, how it does not function. And of course about meeting people and having a lot of fun in the process!!
