Now every model railroad layout can have at least one set of prototypically operating crossing gates. This makes it ridiculously simple and affordable with one complete fully assembled drop in package. It even has it’s own detection system built in. No circuit boards to deal with, no motor linkages to hook up, no sensors to mount and no extra power packs to buy. This works right from your power packs accessory terminals. The gate action is slow and smooth with no jerking or skipping just like the real ones.  My detection system does not rely on incandescent lights to function properly which as most people know are being phased out.  I also custom build structures either from kits or scratch-build. I can build you a whole street scene complete with buildings, roads and sidewalks ready to install on your layout. This is just one example of what building flats are used for. It's where an industrial spur is only about two inches away from the backdrop.
