- Question 14:
Am I able to transfer data from my phone to my PC? If yes, how? Please help.
- Question 15:
When I open the CSV files in Microsoft Excel, the values in some of the
columns are marked as #######. Is it an software issue? Please help.
- Answer 15: No, it is not a software issue.
The default width of the
column is too short too display the value. That's the reason the values
in some of the columns are marked as ######. If you make the columns
wider in Excel, you will see the
values without problem. CSV is a simple spreadsheet format and has no
control of the column width.
- Question 16:
I keep having trouble sending data via g-mail. It says sending message,
return to main menu but data never transfers to who i'm sending it to.
What am I doing wrong? Sometimes it goes through flawlessly, sometimes
it doesn't. I go to export data
base, choose a date range, then select gmail and who i'm sending it to
and hit send. What am I missing?
- Answer 16: To send database in CSV or QIF format as email attachment, you need to turn on
the "Email Auto Sync". You can do it from Settings -> Accounts &
sync -> Auto-sync.
If your Internet connection is not so good, it will also
prevent you from sending the email out. In this case, you can turn on
the WIFI to get better Internet connection.
- Question 17:
I had purchased your application in late summer. I used it religiously
for my expenses. My phone died last week and they shipped me a new one
this week. All my information did not come up and says it wasn't saved
to the SD card. Is there any back up of that data at your site? I really
need that information. Thanks for looking in to my situation!
- Answer 17: We are sorry to hear that you lost all your data due to the dead phone.
All the user data are saved in the phone. We don't have a server to keep
those information.
In Cashbook, we created two useful feature to backup user information from phone memory to SD card. Here are the details:
1) Main Menu -> Options -> Database backup. This will help make a copy of database from phone memory to SD card.
2) Main Menu -> Options -> Auto Database Backup. If it is turned
on, whenever user exit from Mileage Tracker, the application will make a
copy of current database from phone memory to SD card.
With this
two features, if phone is dead or master reset, using the same SD card,
database can be restore from Main Menu -> Options -> Database
Restore.
NOTE: If you never did database backup or Auto Database Backup is off, you will not have any saved database copy to restore.
- Question 18:
For some unknown reason that "Take Receipt Snapshot" feature doesn't
work on my phone. How I can do to use receipt snapshot feature.
- Answer 18: You can use the feature "Select
Receipt Snapshot". You can take a picture of receipt by any camera
application on your phone. After entering a record into Cashbook, you
