The Minnesota State University Veterans Club

Welcome to the Minnesota State Veterans Club new and improved website. We are not a new club to the campus, but are small and growing larger every day. We try to have regularly scheduled meetings every other week depending on peoples activities. It is also common for there to bee at least one social get together per month on or off campus with food and camaraderie.

There will be new elections with new positions being open this fall and we are hoping to get a new person to take over for taking notes at meetings as well as managing our wonderful newsletter and website. This past year the club has seen many new changes such as a new resource center and member lounge thats open to the public. There was a celebration for the Marine Corp birthday and for veterans day. The Minnesota Timberwolves donated a large number of tickets to the club to help us and we are hoping to have an individual to become a public relations coordinator and event coordinators.

As mentioned above group membership has dropped. Each year people graduate and people go on deployments. However, each year people return to or start college. Our membership in the early 1970s was around 400 and our goal is not just to get back to 400 but pass it by 2010. There are over 400 currently declared veterans who attend Minnesota State University Mankato out of over 14,000 member student body. Membership is free and anyone may join.

It does not matter if you are a veteran, know a veteran or you just want to get to know more about us we have our meetings and social events open to the public. Our coffee is always on in the new student lounge and on behalf of the entire Minnesota State Veterans Club you are invited to come on in and meet us or out to one of our many events. We also invite you to bring your friends to participate in all of the fun. It you have an idea to help us out we would be glad to hear it.
