Too often, it can feel like there aren't any other queer or trans folks in the STEM fields.  We decided that some empirical counter-evidence was in order....so we started to find each other, meet up, and have fun!

Minnesota Queer Science is a network of GLBTQ (and allied) folks from across all fields of science, engineering, technology, medicine, and mathematics.  If you're looking for a room full of awesome queer folks and some geeky humor, come join us!

We host a number of casual social events, mainly on the U of M campus.  See our Events listing for lunch meetings, afternoon tea, panel discussions, happy hours, and anything else you want to help instigate.  (yes, that was a hint...) Check out the Photo Gallery for pictures of past shenanigans.

Ready to set things on fire?  Literally -- we're bringing some flashy chemistry demos to our outreach work.  Mentors, role models, and peer support are critical parts of any scientist's professional development, throughout our lives.  In addition to doing that for one another within Queer Science, we're reaching out to others as well.  We offer official mentor/mentee links through the UofM GLBTA Mentor Program, as well as informal mentoring on-campus, with area high schools, and through youth organizations.  For more info, contact Jennifer at mnqsci+mentor@gmail.com.
