A hands-on demo of some of the latest gadgets, like the Kindle, the iPod Touch, and more. Attendees are invited to bring their own gadgets to share with the group as well!

Attendees of the 2009 National IUG Conference will share what they learned while they were in Anaheim, California.
 
Teaching Discovery Layers
A short presentation demonstrating the use of a discovery layer in bibliographic instruction.  The focus will be on Encore, but attendees will be encouraged to share their own experiences, ideas, and questions regarding their discovery layers.

Three libraries will share their experiences in deciding to circulate Kindles. Learn how they approached the process and made decisions regarding collection development, cataloging, and more!

Discovery Layer 101
Encore, AquaBrowser, WorldCat Local, oh my! Come hear about the ways that local libraries are trying to enhance the user's experience. You'll get an overview of the features of these products as well as learn about their respective implementation experiences.

E-Resource Management Systems (ERMs)
Members of this panel will discuss their reasons for implementing an ERM, the implementation process itself, and the ongoing maintenance involved. Presenters will touch upon the advantages of implementing an ERM, as well as the challenges they have encountered. ERMS represented will be III, Serials Solutions, and UW-Lacrosse’s ERMes Electronic Resource Management (ERM) Software.
