Students are currently learning about pulleys and gears. They will be learning about ways in which pulleys and gears modify the speed and direction of moving objects, and the force exerted on moving objects. Students will also show the principles and functions of pulley and gear systems and how they are used in society.
 As a connection with Medieval times, students will be building a pulley or gear system for their castle, examples could be building a flag pole, a drawbridge or a catapult.
