27 years ago marked the beginning of our saga when Justice, the first pony of darkness, was born. 9 years later we witnessed the death of the one named Megan and the loss of the fairytale dream that was once Ponyland. With her death, and the death of all of our parents who were of light, we unwillingly inherited all of this land and responsibility for it. The last 18 years have shown that we were not ready for the uncertain road that was ahead of us. This land which was once rich in childlike innocence now overflows with conflict. For most of us, this land is no longer the paradise that our parents told us of. Here, where light was once dominant, darkness fights a cruel battle in order to intrude. Even after all this time, many of us still do not know where to go or what to do. 18 years ago marked the end of the dream to which we were born to. Now we, the remaining inhabitants of Ponyland, struggle to find a new dream to belong to...
29 years ago (11 BD, 0 ANL) the pony named Sundance, arguably Megan's best friend in Ponyland, gave birth to her first daughter. Sundance's daughter was a beautiful white Unicorn with silver hair and a silver heart as a symbol. For this reason she chose to name her Silver Dream. 2 years later, in the year 9 BD (2 ANL), Sundance bore yet another daughter. Like her older sister, this new daughter was also a Unicorn. However, the similarities ended there for the two sisters since the youngest was born with a dark grey body with grey hair. What's worse is that this newborn was born blind, therfore becoming the first known pony to ever be born with a "defect". Due to her symbol, a set of scales, Sundance chose to name her youngest daughter Justice. Justice's birth marked the beginning of a dark period for the ponies of Ponyland. After Justice, ponies were no longer (supposedly) born in the pastel colors of their parents. They were all born in dark colors despite their parents bright colors. It was also observed that some of these new "Ponies of Darkness", as they would eventually become known as, were born with magical abilities that their parents never had. 9 years after the birth of Justice, in the year 0 BD (11 ANL), there was yet another blow to pony society. The one known as Megan died that year for some unknown reason and ALL of the original ponies of the land died within a few months after her death. Also, the rainbow that led Megan to Ponyland disappeared the day that she died and has not returned since. We now refer to this event as The Great Death. After the Great Death the only ponies left alive were Justice, all those born after her, and her sister Silver Dream. No one knew why Silver Dream was still alive and the reason is still unknown to this day. However, it was quickly noted that she was the only light colored pony left. Since Silver Dream was the only Pony of Light, the name we call the deceased ponies of our past when Megan was here, left she eventually was able to assume the title of Queen of Ponyland. She is, however, a very cruel and heartless leader and rather than ruling like Majesty did she simply has attempted to subjugate all of Dream Valley and Flutter Valley under her control. For what goal or to what end she does this, we do not know. However, this is only one of many atrocities that have occured under her reign. Soon after, all of Ponyland fell into dark chaos as everything went downhill for the ponies. The year is now 18 AGD (29 ANL) and Ponyland is no longer the place that it was during the time of the Ponies of Light. Our world is a lot darker now.... |
