Invasive species on islands

My research is mainly focused on the biology and ecology of invasive species and their impacts on insular environments, both from an evolutionary and a conservation perspective. My research is usually undertaken with invasive vertebrates on islands, mainly in the Canary Islands, although I worked in Anacapa (California), Natividad (Mexico) and now I am also doing research at Great Abaco (Bahamas).

Biodiversity conservation

Seabirds.- The study The study of the biology and ecology of seabirds in the Canary Islands, mainly Cory's shearwater (Calonectris diomedea), is another of my research lines. This research line is particularly focused on the improvement of the conservation status of these bird species, within the framework of the activities of Amigos de la Pardela Cenicienta.

Raptors.- Raptors conservation also attracks my attention. Particularly, I have done few works about the status and conservation of Buteo buteo in Fuerteventura Island, and with Falco eleonorae in the Canary Islands.
