We are seeking MLD students' submissions for oral presentations and poster presentations. All students in MLD are expected to participate, except for first-year students.
In line with our goal of increasing research collaboration, we strongly encourage and welcome submissions describing ongoing work. There is no specific evaluation criteria and we expect to be able to accept all serious submissions.

Format
Submissions should be brief, one-page abstracts, in any aspects of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics and Data Mining. Please use the NIPS format (http://nips.cc/PaperInformation/StyleFiles).

Procedures
Submissions are not blind and should be sent by email to mldsymposium@cs.cmu.edu by October 1, 2009.

Prizes
Talk: $70 for the best and $35 for the runner-up.
Poster: $70 for the best and $35 for the runner-up.

Notification
Authors will be notified by October 15, 2009
