October roundup - lots of games!

posted ‎‎1 Nov 2009 13:38‎‎ by Katie Ellis
The games have been coming thick and fast and here is what's been going on!

Firstly, the 1st team played two friendlies against Highbury on 18th October, beating Highbury 2 but losing narrowly to Highbury 1. One comedic point to recall was Natasha’s pass flung goal bound accompanied by the shout “that’s a pass not a shot” which dropped smartly in the goal

Back in MK, the 3rd team opened their League SMKA campaign with wins over Walton Rogues and MK Colossus, with debuts all round from Sam, Terri and Stephanie.

The Match against Rogues provided a good warm up game for all and a 14-1 win. Rogues were fit and mobile, but unable to obtain any good offensive positions due to a formidable defence. It was a shame more MK blokes were unable to play due to various reasons but Pete stepped in to play his first game in MK colours scoring two hatricks and developing his shot very well. The second match against Colossus started with Toby letting in a goal, but he and everyone else rallied round to win 10vs5. Goals a plenty all round. Stephanie and Sam both got a goal each and Terri scored two running ins.

Total scorers - vs Rogues:
James Sloan (3 goals), Mary (3 goals), Monique (2 goals), Paul W (2 goals), Pete (2 goals), Terri (1 goal), Toby (1 goal)

vs Colossus:
Katie (3 goals), Mary (1 goal), Pete (3 goals), Sam (2 goals), Toby (1 goal)

Then, on 25th October, Bucks 2 bt Isis 1 by 13-8 with a strong performance. On the whole a good all round performance by all with some great long shots by Jon P against stong male defence. Thanks to Simon & Kat for helping out & to Toby for reffing the match before!

The team was: Jon P (4), Toby (2), Paul W (1), Simon, Kat (2), Mandy (2), Natasha, Kirsty (2)
And the thirds went marching on with wins over MK Roos 13-2 and Luton Hatters 15-3, with Charlene making her Bucks debut!

Scorers vs Roos:
Adam (4 goals), John (2 goals), Kat (2 goals), Sam (1 goal), Simon (2 goals), Terri (2 goals)

vs Hatters:
James Sloan (3 goals), Kirsty (1 goal), Natasha (4 goals), Nov (4 goals), Simon (2 goals), Terri (1 goal)
