Traditional Indian martial art from Kerala including "being very well" Kalari treatments. Northern, southern and central style body forms and application techniques. No Manuel Schaerfl, authorized by C.M. Sherif Gurukkal; certified teacher in the traditional lineage of the KKA Kerala Kalarippayat Academy (Kannur, India). Kalarippayat means a sacred place for training and healing. This extremely healthy martial art is nearly 5000 years old and its origin is in Kerala. The traditional Kalari is made from medicated mud and students practise covered in oil. The practise is mainly high physical working on a lot of body extension and expansion, also you can find pretty fast and slow movements which lead you to an outer sense of feeling - your body will recover its right health and look. A high level of body and mind awareness can be achieved. The body becomes very flexibel and powerful, the mind gets very focused, relaxed and strong. Th e kalari training cleans up the entire body system, the training works with all muscles and joints. You will practise healthy kicks (leg swings), lohar techniques, body forms, body positions, salutations, partner forms and later different weapons. Advanced students will learn defence and fig hting applications and how to use the traditional wooden weapons i.e. longstick, shortstick, otta and metal weapons as dagger, sword and shield, speer and urumi; weapon practise is free, as you wish... Individual guidance is guaranteed, as the workshops given are never too crowded. There is also no previous experience required. You can start at every age. Kalari also can be used to release stress and helps you advance in other sports. You don´t need special equipment, just bring comfortable clothing, enough to drink and a towel, as you will sweat a lot. My workshops will be aligned along your boundaries and fitness level. Group and private classes, traditional Kalari massage and national and international workshops are available. I spent over 15 years studying and practising meditation and different yoga styles. I am practising Kalari for many years now with a lot of pasion and am a certified teacher with great success since 2001. My teaching is a bit unique and adapted to Europe. Kalari is my main profession, so I`am still visiting the KKA in Kerala every year for a period of two to three months to practise and improve my Kalari and treatment skills. I am very happy about any enquiries.
