He was a tall, fit, well-bult man, who had worked for some years in a mine, that was clear when you saw him. I can't think of him as a bad person, although he decided to have a relationship with Megan even knowing that her father didn't approve or that. He was, however, a very stubborn person: he wanted to be with Megan all his life, even if she had met another man or even if her father didn't approve of their relationship.
After all, I think Huw was a very romantic, caring person, so I think he was the right man for Megan.

Fifty years later she found them and wrote to him. They ended up together.

Huw is a man who is very much in love with Megan. He loves her very much. He is serious but this is because of his family’s situation, because he has a father who drinks a lot, a brother who died in Africa and another brother who is similar to Huw. His mother died when he was born. He is looking after his father all the time.

He is tall, he has dark skin and shortish dark hair. After reading the book, I think he is very attractive although the book doesn’t say so.

The plot doesn´t tell us exactly what Huw looks like but Megan says Huw is a tall and handsome man with tanned skin. He is hardworking , kind, decisive, brave and also a dreamer at the age of sixteen.  He is interested in painting.

Huw was kind and sensitive with his father, who had a problem with alcohol, and although he didn’t have enough money to buy food, he gave Megan a silver necklace, so he was generous and polite.
He grew up without his mother and he lived with his dad and his brother Gareth who died in the mine, so he had to go on alone with his ill father but he didn´t give up hope to be happier and got a job as a painter and reached his dream. He was a well payed painter and a separated father at sixty seven.

Huw was a sixteen-year-old young man . I think he was handsome and he was a hard worker but he dreamed to become rich, he was in love with Megan and wanted something better for them. He was also a very familiar man.
