A Brief History:

I was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, and grew up hiking, camping and snowboarding in the Selkirk Mountains and swimming and canoing in Pend Oreille Lake. I  attended Sandpoint High School and was part of the journalism program,  was involved with drama, and ran track and cross country.  After graduating from high school in the class of 1996, I attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota,  where I majored in English with a writing focus, and minored in studio art.  I graduated in  2000 and joined the Peace Corps where I taught conversational English in the Central Asian country of Turkmenistan where I met my wife.
          
During my service there I discovered that I loved teaching and working with students.  Upon returning to the US I began pursuing education as a career. In the spring of 2007 I was happy to complete my Masters in Education at the University of Idaho. This is my seventh year teaching at Woodinville High School. Each year here has confirmed my love of teaching. I’m sure this year will be no different.      

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, backpacking, kayaking, reading, watching movies,  playing the guitar, and spending time with my wife, daughter and son.
