It all started June 9,2011, when John Green graced us with his presence at the MFCE 9th Annual Endowment Banquet and painted a picture of our John Paul II School. When John unveiled the painting at the banquet, my heart skipped a beat and I was breathless! It was absolutely stunning! As the banquet went on, John made the finishing touches and when finished Ralph Kiner auctioned the painting off with John standing by. Terry and Deb Sabers, long time supporters of our Foundation, won the painting. Today it continues to be a blessing, as Terry and Deb graciously donated the original back to our Foundation. It will hang in the main hallway of John Paul II School for everyone to enjoy. But the story does not end there. Prints were commissioned of the painting and now you can enjoy it in your home as well. The print is rightly named "Learning in the Light of Faith" and prints are on now on sale. All proceeds from the sale of this print will help us in our mission to Preserve the Past and Protect the Future of Catholic Education in Mitchell,SD!
