| Beauty With A Purpose |
The Miss World Organisation has raised over $250 million for Children’s Charities throughout the world. Among the many recipients are the Nelson Mandela Trust, world wide children’s charities such as Starship and Variety Clubs International; all this money has been collected through the theme of ‘Beauty with a Purpose’, started by Julia Morley over 24 years ago.
To this day, the Miss World Organisation is the only International Contest to have adopted such a theme.
Apart from the commercial work and personal appearances which Miss World and Mr World undertake in each country visited, time is always set aside to allow each country a chance to hold a special function attended by Miss World. For example, a Miss World Fashion Show, luncheon or any other similar event which involves Miss World. All monies raised from ticket sales, raffles, tombolas or donations etc are entirely donated to the underprivileged and handicapped children of that country.
The Miss Wolrd NZ Pageant is a non profit organisation and receives no funding from the New Zealand Government.
Contestants are to source sponsors to aid them in Travel and participation in the pageant.
