IHOP–KC, http://www.ihop.org/ is committed to prayer, fasting, the Great Commission, and to living as forerunners, preparing the Church as a bride for the unique dynamics of the End Times. The work of our ministry includes equipping and sending out missionaries as dedicated intercessors and evangelists who work to see revival within the Church, and a harvest among those searching for God. We take seriously the mandate to train believers to love Jesus and others wholeheartedly from the place of night and day prayer, as together we go forth to preach the Word, heal the sick, serve the poor, plant houses of prayer and proclaim the return of Jesus across the earth.
The heart of our missions base is to engage in 24/7 worship and prayer. Two historical figures from the Bible who inspire us in this are Anna, the first evangelist and forerunner in the New Testament who prayed and fasted for over sixty years before Jesus’ first coming (Luke 2:37), and King David who organized and paid 4,000 musicians and 288 singers to worship God continually, around the clock (1 Chronicles 23:1–25:31). IHOP - KC's vision is to prepare thousands of full-time intercessory missionaries who, like John the Baptist, live a lifestyle of discipline and devotion as burning and shining lamps. As forerunner messengers, their lives and voices cry out, “Prepare the way of the Lord!” We invite you to visit us online and in person. Join with us as we set our hearts to love God, worship Him alone and dedicate our lives to serving Him without reservation; to love others; and to prepare the way of the Lord through night and day worship and intercession. History of the Prayer MovementAround 1000 BC, King David set a precedent of night and day worship to the Lord that Scripture prophesies will be re-established in the last days: "On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David…I will raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old" (Amos 9:11). Throughout the centuries, groups in Ireland, Germany, South Korea, and elsewhere across the globe have established 24/7 prayer centers. In 1999, we started a worship and prayer meeting, and the International House of Prayer in Kansas City was born.
The IHOP–KC Prayer Room On September 19, 1999, a prayer meeting began which continues to this day; from dawn to dusk and through the watches of the night, by the grace of God, prayer and worship have continued twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The prayer room is the heartbeat—the essence and the origin—of all that goes on at the IHOP–KC Missions Base. Scripture teaches that night and day prayer is essential; it is God’s primary method of establishing justice in the earth (Luke 18:1–7). We are offering Jesus unremitting adoration and taking a stand in prayer for the manifestation of God's justice in every realm of life.
IHOP–KC Mission and VisionWe desire: (1) To call forth, train and mobilize worshipping intercessors who operate in the forerunner spirit as end-time prophetic messengers; (2) To establish a perpetual solemn assembly in Kansas City by gathering corporately to fast and pray, recognizing this as God’s foremost method of establishing justice.Endorsements“The Church today needs to be mobilized with continual prayer and fasting to release the harvest of souls waiting to be garnered from among the nations. Mike Bickle’s reliable ministry at his missions base in Kansas City is helping to answer a great need in this hour.”—Jack W. Hayford, The Church On The Way “The Great Harvest needs to be supplied by continual prayer and fasting. Intercessory ministries like Mike Bickle’s in Kansas City are vital for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.” —Loren Cunningham, Youth With A Mission (YWAM) “The Great Commission needs to be fueled with fiery, continual prayer with fasting. Our greatest effectiveness in reaching millions of souls will be seen only as our work is bathed in prayer and fasting. Prayer ministries like Mike Bickle’s in Kansas City are important for the completion of the Great Harvest.” —Bill Bright, Campus Crusade for Christ “As a lifelong missiologist, I cannot help but think that the landscape of humanity will drastically change when the body of Christ actually becomes a House of Prayer. Mike Bickle has risked it all to convince us of this fact. I heartily recommend this amazing work!” —C. Peter Wagner, Wagner Leadership Institute |
