"Current Events"
There has been a change to the current events guidelines. Current events will now be due every week and will be due on Thursdays.
**UPDATE** 9/29/09
"The Bean Game" As of today, we be changing the way we do the Quick Questions at the beginning of class. Instead of you writing the answers, we will answer the questions orally. The catch is that you may not use your notes, textbook, or workbook to find the answers. This requires that you review the class material before coming to class. Once the bell rings, I will begin to ask a series of questions relating to the information learned from the lesson before. The class will get 3 tries to answer the questions correctly. If you get the questions correct on the first try, I will place 3 beans into your class' flask. If you get the questions correct on the second try, 2 beans will be placed in the flask. If the questions are answered correctly on the third try, 1 bean will be placed into the flask. Now and then there will be a bonus questions worth 5 beans. This is an all or nothing question. If it is answered correctly, you get all 5 beans. If it is answered incorrectly, you will receive no beans. To obtain the most beans, you must be sure you know the answer before raising your hand. I will call upon the student whose hand I see go up first. At the end of the chapter, the class with the most beans will earn 5 extra points on their test, second place will receive 3 points and third place will receive 1 point.
GOOD LUCK!! :-D
**UPDATE** 9/2/09Please do not worry if you do not have the workbook right now. I will make photocopies of the pages until you have one in your possession. But please be sure to order one soon because most, if not all, your homework assignments will be in the workbook. The text book for this class is the following: Prentice Hall Biology ( ;) ISBN: 0-131662554). Please also be sure to have the accompanying Reading and Study Guide Workbook A.
