"The Bean Game"
Come Monday, we be changing the way we do the Quick Questions at the beginning of class.  Instead of you writing the answers, we will answer the questions orally.  The catch is that you may not use your notes or textbook to find the answers.  This requires that you review the class material before coming to class.  Once the bell rings, I will begin to ask a series of questions relating to the information learned from the lesson before.  The class will get 3 tries to answer the questions correctly.  If you get the questions correct on the first try, I will place 3 beans into your class' flask.  If you get the questions correct on the second try, 2 beans will be placed in the flask.  If the questions are answered correctly on the third try, 1 bean will be placed into the flask.  Now and then there will be a bonus questions worth 5 beans.  This is an all or nothing question.  If it is answered correctly, you get all 5 beans.  If it is answered incorrectly, you will receive no beans.
To obtain the most beans, you must be sure you know the answer before raising your hand.  I will call upon the student whose hand I see go up first.  At the end of the chapter, the class with the most beans will earn 5 extra points on their test and second place will receive 3 points.

GOOD LUCK!! :-D

**UPDATE** 9/2/09
I have been made aware of the difficulty in tracking down this book.  I am currently researching what I can regarding the international version.  I will let you know when I have come to a conclusion.  For now, if you do not have a book, please do not stress! We want to start the year on a good foot, so just take a deep breath! All will be well!

The text book for this class is as follows: Essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology (8th Ed.) by Elaine N. Marieb.
