| We have been talking a lot about what a classroom should LOOK LIKE and what it should SOUND LIKE. Much of the discussion has been revolved around what it looks like when students are working, helping each other, being on task, and what the room should sound like in order for everyone to benefit from the environment. As students get older, it can be very easy to become distracted by peers, which can cause problems in the classroom. It can cause students to become off task, which puts them at risk for not understanding what was talked about in the classroom. We are currently using task cards to track progress. Students are continually monitoring their own progress, marking times when they are on task and times when they are off task. Our goal is to make class time as beneficial as possible for everyone involved! |
