Tuesday 3/30/10:  All iMovies should be in the MMstudent Server in the correct folder.  Today you need to present your video and hand in all of the writing assignments (nine journals, artist's statement and rubric) in the iMovie Final Project description. Any late work must be handed in today if you want credit.

Monday 3/29/10:  Today you should write Journal #9 as we continue the  iMovie Final Project.  The iMovies are due at the end of class Today!  The journals, artist statement and grading rubrics are due tomorrow before the final exam.

Friday 3/26/10:  Today you should write Journal #8 as we continue the  iMovie Final Project .   All groups should be taping and editing by now. The iMovies are due at the end of class on Monday 3/29/2010.  The journals, artist statement and grading rubrics are due on Tuesday before the final.

Wednesday 3/17/10:  We will finish watching PBS’ American Experience: Big Dream Small Screen.  You will complete a KWL chart and Questions: the K = what you know already and the W = what you want to know before you play the movie.  The L = what you have learned about TV and Philo T. Farnsworth while watching the movie.  Complete the worksheet questions and turn them in before you leave class today.  We'll start the iMovie Final Project today. Today you should write Journal #1.

Tuesday 3/2/10:  We are going to continue the News Brief today, as well as train people in for the Equipment Competencies you will need for the news show.  Make sure you have your group's idea approved and that you work on your storyboard and scripts today as your group members are trained in on the TV Studio Equipment.  You will have today to play and tomorrow you should be taping.  I hope to begin taping the News Show on Wednesday.

Tuesday 2/16/10:  Today we took notes on Storyboarding and practiced on an example commercial in class to prepare you for the Commercial Analysis , which will be due Monday 2/22/2010.  We began the In-Camera Project.  You will have a quiz tomorrow on Camera Shots and Moves.

Friday 2/12/10:  We watched the Interview Projects and graded them.  You needed to turn in your Pre-Interview Worksheet, Interview Notes and Understanding Television worksheets, as well as your Peer Grade Sheets.  

Thursday 2/11/10:  We'll watch Understanding Television and take notes while students finish uploading, sharing, and saving the Interviews that we will watch tomorrow.

Wednesday 2/10/10:  Your Interviews must be recorded, saved, uploaded and compressed by the end of the day today.

Tuesday 2/9/10: Continue your Interviews.  They must be recorded, saved, uploaded and compressed by the end of the day on Wednesday.

Monday 2/8/10: Due today - Parent signatures, a miniDV tape (or $5.00),  Cultural Literacy Quiz and aComparing Interviews. Before you can begin taping yoru interviews, you must complete the Instructions for the Interview Project Pre-Interview Worksheet.  Your Interviews must be recorded, saved, uploaded and compressed by the end of the day on Wednesday.

Friday 2/5/10: We watched two interview styles: Connie Chung and Michael Moore.  Please complete the Comparing Interviews sheet I gave you and turn it in on Monday along with your Parent Letter, a miniDV tape or $5.00 and your Cultural Literacy Quiz.  We also watched and critiqued student interviews to prepare.  Today we chose partners and completed the Instructions for the Interview Project - Pre-Interview Worksheet.  You and your partner must have this completed before I check you out a camera on Monday.

Thursday 2/4/10: Students continued taking notes on Camera Shots and moves in order to prepare for upcoming projects.  Students received Instructions for the Interview Project  and took notes to get them started.  Remember to get your Parent Letter signed, bring a miniDV tape or $5.00 and complete your Cultural Literacy Quiz by Monday 11/23.

Wednesday 2/3/10: Finished recording brief interviews from each student as a "get to know you" exercise. Monday 2/1/10: Class Standards and Parent Letter were handed out.  We looked at a PowerPoint of Course Expectations and Examples of projects students have done in the past.  Make sure you write a one-page letter about yourself for tomorrow's activities.  Get your Parent Letter signed, bring a mini DV tape or $5.00 and complete your Cultural Literacy Quiz.
