Please hand in (in this order): The MLA-formatted final draft, the corrected and graded rough draft, the Artist’s Statement*, the Turnitin Originality Report, and the 6 Traits Peer Grade on the back.
*For the Artist’s Statement, explain:
-What you initially set out to explore, investigate and discover through writing this piece.
-How your ideas developed.
-How your perspective changed as your work took shape.    
-How your background (did or did not) influence your work.          
-What you learned from writing this piece.
In addition, please explain what grade you think you deserve based on your effort and final product.

Continue planning your One-Act Play.  Use the feedback on your summaries, and start planning the outline, which is due on Monday 5/17/2010.  Please make corrections and edits to the rough drafts of your short stories.

Friday 04/23/10:  We discussed denouement today.  Your combined story is due today.  Hand in the entire story in MLA format, the first page of your turnitin.com originality report and (make sure two students read and comment on your story with) a 6 Traits rubric.  Also, please follow the directions on the Wiki, and post your story online.  For Monday you must have a short summary of a fairy tale, fable, myth or nursery rhyme that you would like to rewrite.
 
Thursday 04/22/10:  We discussed climax today.  Today you need to hand in a brief five to seven-sentence paragraph about the story you will hand in for your first portfolio project.  You will want to address the setting, characters, topic, overall plot and theme of this story.  Don’t worry—you can always change your mind.  I just want to see what people are planning.  This is just one step in the process. Your combined story is due tomorrow.  Hand in on paper the entire story in MLA format, the first page of your turnitin.com originality report and (make sure two students read and comment on your story with) a 6 Traits rubric.  Also, please follow the directions on the Wiki, and post your story online.

Monday 04/12/10:  I introduced myself to the class and handed out the parent letter and course expectations.  Parents must sign the forms, which are due Friday 4/16/10.  We looked over a hand out on Point of View to prepare students for the following assignment: The Narrative.
