parents/guardians and a responsible adult must be present with you
for safety reasons.

please have me approve outside Adventures before you complete them.

Examples
Field Trip
You
may visit a place such as the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, Birch
Aquarium, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, Chula Vista
Nature Center, Mission Trails Regional Park Visitors Center, Natural
History Museum, Museum of Man, Santee Lakes Reclamation Center,
Cuyamaca State Park, etc.
In
order to earn full credit for a Field Trip outside adventure you must
provide the following:
1.
A written description of what you did including at least 30
facts/things you learned pertaining to biology / science, or a
combination of facts with a summary of what you did.
2.
photographs of you in action.
3.
A signature (or an official stamp) from a ranger, manager, tour
guide, etc.
4.
A signed note from the adult (parent/guardian) in charge stating
that you had permission to complete the outside adventure and that
you behaved in a responsible manner.
Environmental Cleanup
must
be hosted by an approved organization.

Fundraising Walk/Run
You
may participate in an event to raise money for causes such as cancer,
multiple sclerosis, autism, AIDS, heart disease, etc. (Health)
In
order to earn full credit for the above outside adventures you must
provide the following:
1.
A short written description of what you did.
2.
a photograph of you in action
3.
A signature from an adult: parent, ranger, event coordinator, or
other official leader of the activity.
Book Report
See
your teacher for an approved list of books! Note this is a reading,
NOT and academic book (over 150 pages…)
Required
for Full Credit:
1.
Handwritten, legible, detailed summary of the book.
Make
sure to include a paragraph about how the material relates to biology
/ science, and Include at least one paragraph describing your
personal opinion of the book. Reference of the book (So I can find
it)
Research Project
You
may complete a research project of your choice.
Some
examples are: an endangered species, a contagious disease, a genetic
disorder, a medical condition, an environmental issue. Required for
Full Credit:
1.
Prior approval from your teacher
2.
At least 4 reputable sources with full bibliographic information.
Sources may include valid web pages, books, scientific journals,
personal interviews with doctor or other specialists.
Write
for a person who knows nothing about your subject, include an
overview of the subject, and specific information from each
reference that you used, also make sure to include a description of
why you chose this topic.
