Summary: in this unit we will look at the structure of DNA and all the different terms associated with it.  We will also go over the cell cycle including DNA replication and Mitosis.  We will go over the terms involved with genetics and begin our genetics learning by studying Mendel's discoveries and using mono-hybrid punnette squares.  This unit has a lot of new terms- make sure you know them!

Helpfull hints for punnette squares
Parents genotypes go on the outside and possible babies go inside- it does not matter which parent goes where.
Set up parent's genotypes and the drop down and slide across to get babies.
Always write the capital letter first if one is there.
When solving problems- First write down what you know. Second build a punnette square.  Last go back and look at and then answer the question asked.
