Quote 1: Importance of Place

 My brother said " I wont fish with him. He comes from the West Coast and he fishes with worms."

I said " Cut it out. you know hes from Montana. He just works on the west coast. And now he's coming back for a vacation adn writes his mother he wants to fish with us. With you especially."

I think this quote from the book shows the importance of place between the different ways of fishing habbits and how Paul doesn't like when people fish with worms. 

Quote 2: A quote that shows a relationship between two characters

 I guess there was also another reason why today he was seperating himself from me as fast and a far as passible-he did not want to talk to him about the other night.

This quote I thought showed how the relationship between Norman and Paul wasn't the greatest. I thought it also showed that they don't talk much besides about fishing.

Quote 3: A quotation that helps establish a meraphor explored in the book

In our family, there was no clear line between religion and fly fishing. We lived at the junction of great trout rivers in western Montana, and out farther was a Presbyteran minister and a fly fisherman who tied his own flies and taught others. He told about Christ's disciples being fisherman, and we left to assume, as my brother and I did, that all first-class fisherman on the Sea of Galilee were fly fishermen and that John, the favorite, was a dry-fly fisherman.

I thought this showed a good metaphor between fishing and their religion.

Quote 4:

I am haunted by waters.

I thought this was the most important quote in A River Runs Though It because it shows how Norman realized what was happening in the world and that he is all alone now. I also think that he is haunted by the waters because that is the one thing his brothers would merge into after he died.
