Welcome to My Webpage I am the author of Sirens of the Heart: Love Poetry for the Soul, but before I tell you about the book, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Miriam, Miry to my family and friends, which includes all of the fans of my book. I was born in the Island of Cuba, but lived most of my life in Miami, Florida where I called home for about 35 years. Almost two years ago, I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee and I now feel that my life has started all over again. This is me!
I am 43 years old, married to a wonderful man that loves me more than I deserve at times. We have been together for 20 years and just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. We are both in love with each other and now in love with Knoxville and all the beauty and peace that it offers. After living in "flat" Florida for so many years, being surrounded by the mountains is absolutely spectacular and I thank God for this blessing everyday.

Sirens of the Heart: Love Poetry for the Soul is a compilation of love poems. Love lost, love that is forbidden, and love that has sustained itself throughout the years. If you are a romantic as I am, you will be able to relate to the poetry in a very personal way and you will absolutely love this book.
I am often asked if the poems in the book are "personal". All my poems are personal and extremely close to my heart. Not all of them are about me or my life, many are about friends and family and there are even quite a few about people I barely knew that touched my life in one way or another. They are all personal to me because I wrote them and they reflect my feelings of that particular situation. So sit back and take a peak into Sirens of the Heart and my soul.
Reflection
It's days like today When I reflect back on my life And realize all that I have missed in the years I have lived.
If there was only a way of turning back time I think I could be so much more I surely wouldn't hide behind the fears.
I would allow myself to be me Without the worry of what others thought Without the fear of what I could or would not be.

I need you today I need your reassurance that things will be fine I need your patience as I seem to fall apart I need your warmth as you hold me in your arms.
I need you today I need the love that you have for me I need the beauty that you see I need the passion that I bring to thee.
I need you today I need your strength to carry me through the day I need to know that you are here and will not let go I need your heart, your love, and your soul.
I need you today I need you to be strong I need you to know that as I go to a world beyond, my love for you goes on I need you to know that your angel I’ll become.
