What is High School Player Development? The NFL High School Player Development (HSPD) program addresses challenges facing high school football programs across the country focusing primarily on under-served communities. HSPD serves as a free resource for both high school players and coaches. The program emphasizes safety and concussion awareness, character development and life skills, and football fundamentals.Minnesota HSPD Camps are FREE football skills camps offered by the NFL, and the National Guard. HSPD Camps are designed to help young athletes learn about football and life. Camps are offered all across the USA for athletes going into grades 9-12. Athletes receive an HSPD planner and jersey. They receive quality coaching by high school and college coaches. Players and teams can qualify to be on 7-on-7 teams that will compete at a regional and a national tournament. The Regional Tourney will be held June 24th, and the National Tourney will be held in Indianapolis, IN. Here is a great video created by the National Guard to help promote HSPD. It gives a nice background about the program and explains the benefits. Lodging is not provided for campers. Hopefully, you will be able to find a camp close enough to home, so you won't need to commute too far. Although, sharing a hotel room with several teammates may be the way to go. You can usually name a pretty good rate at Priceline. Vandy Intro Video
