"Crop Mob"
Volunteers help Jeremy McAdams @ Cherry Tree House Mushrooms - Maplewood, MN
The Minnehaha Chapter just enjoyed its first "Crop Mob" at Cherry Tree House Mushrooms, an urban farm providing log-grown shiitake and oyster mushrooms to fine Twin Cities restaurants and farmers' markets. The logs used to grow the mushrooms are sustainably harvested nearby, ingredients used in his operation are (non-certified) organic, and he uses no fungicides. Members and volunteers helped moved brush and logs, dig trenches, and drill stakes for a new shade growing structure.
We look forward to promoting more urban farmers and organizing more Crop Mobs early next Spring. If you are interested in volunteering for these events (families welcome), please contact us.
