February 2012
Rosie Ramsey, Michelle Schroeder and Lee Barthel (Membership Committee) hosted an Environmental Documentary Film Night at Rosie's home. We picked up two new members and had great conversation talking about the issues of the day. Welcome to Mary Speidel and Leigh Paulson. More to come. December 10, 2011 Rosie Ramsey hosted our chapter Holiday Luncheon. Kathy Baird even drove all of the way from Welch. Thank you!!

November 16, 2011 Thank you!! Great news to share! The Minnehaha Chapter raised $820 during the Third Annual "Give to the Max Day" - November 16, 2011. We appreciate the generous support from our donors, as well as the vote of confidence in our chapter. The contributions will be used for events that help people enjoy and protect our outdoor environment.
Project wish list:
October 26, 2011 A very sad day. The Minnehaha Chapter has suffered a heartbreaking loss. Beloved member Ruth Saari took a serious fall after our last Chapter meeting. She underwent surgery and did not come out from the anesthesia. Ruth was a great mentor to many of us in the Chapter and to hundreds of people across the state and country. The Minnehaha Chapter feels this loss deeply. We will try even harder to defend our beautiful environment.
Ruth requested memorials be made on behalf of the Ruth Saari Izaak Walton League Scholarship Fund (please write this in the memo line of the check). The Fund helps college students pursue a degree in natural resources. Checks should be written and addressed to: Minnesota Division IWLA, 2233 University Ave. W., Suite 339, St. Paul, MN 55114. You may also make a donation on-line by going go the MN Division web page and clicking on the Donate button (check either "Add a designation" or "Add a dedication" and type in "Ruth Saari.") September 20, 2011 The Minnehaha Chapter is pleased to announce the new Chapter Officers:
Our Committees are chaired by Lee Barthel (Membership), Michelle Schroeder (Legislative), and George Barthel (Conservation).
