About Us

We are one of the oldest conservation organizations in the State of Minnesota.  Our small chapter is looking for new members and volunteers wanting to work locally to promote conservation and solve pressing environmental issues.  We hope to expand the chapter's presence in the community, collaborating with local businesses and other non-profits on projects to protect and improve the environment.

Some of the projects we are working on:

  • Conservation Education for All Ages
  • Outdoor Program
  • Crop Mob
  • Rain Gardens
  • Clean-Up Efforts
  • Hosting Zero Waste Events
  • EARTH DAY!

We want to hear from the community (that's you) on the issues and on solutions that will have the greatest positive impact.  If you would like to work on something not listed above, please contact us.

We also encourage our members to:
  • contact their local, state and federal political representatives on environmental issues
  • represent the IWLA at environmental, wetland and sports shows to promote IWLA policies
  • educate youth on the preservation of the environment
  • distribute the IWLA Outdoor America magazine
  • sponsor student transportation to local nature centers

Whether you are a member, a volunteer or financial supporter (and some of you are all of those things), we are grateful for your commitment and dedication.  We would like to keep our supporters informed of what we are doing and how our funds are used to further our mission of protecting our soil, air, woods, waters and wildlife.  Be sure to check out our website to stay informed about our upcoming events.
