Have a look at this amazing pool to pond project: 'Thousands of pool owners must be wondering what they can do with their backyard pool. Water restrictions will get tougher making pools harder to maintain, maybe the kids have left home, the pool needs work or the idea of a micro-wetland in the backyard just sounds nice .... so - turn your pool into a pond!" Confused about what is a native plant and what a weed? Hornsby Council published an excellent booklet to help identify lookalikes. You can buy it from their environment desk ($11) , or download it.
