As a caregiver’s coach, I employ Mindful Caregiving tools to help caregivers to shift their thinking so as to generate a personally empowering caregiving experience. My coaching style rises from a conviction that all of life experience, both pleasure and pain, (including the decline of loved ones), can serve a higher purpose. I support clients at any point in the phases of caregiving, during the final stage of emotional completion, and beyond in the redesign of a future life. My new book, "The Caregiver's Compass" teaches the Mindful Caregiving tools, and is itself a learning tool, a handbook for navigating the emotional terrain of caregiving. I am a certified Eden Alternative Associate, and am a member of the planning group for a NH Coalition for Culture Change in nursing homes. Over the last ten years I have also: co-lead personal effectiveness workshops for Rotary Clubs; privately coached Rotary board members; led wellness workshops for women; and led spiritual (non-religious) discussion groups and programs. As a writer and author’s coach, I have worked on a number of self help books. I collaborated with Sydney Rice-Harrild in the writing, production and publication of Choice Points: Navigate Your Career Using the Unique PaperRoom Process (Davies-Black, 2003), am a member of The Seacoast Writers' Association and the 750-member New Hampshire Writers’ Project. I live, with my husband of 37 years and two golden retrievers, in our former one-room schoolhouse in Fremont NH. |
