Program: Color in Minerals

We will watch a DVD talk by Dr. George R. Rossman, California Institute of Technology.  He discusses the mechanisms behind the beautiful colors we all seek in the minerals we collect.  After Rossman's  presentation, you will have a chance to show your favorite colored mineral; we will discuss, as a group, the principles contributing to it's color.
-----
Mineral(s) of the Month:  Colored Minerals

Bring a few of your favorite colored mineral specimens.  After the DVD presentation you'll have a chance to show-and-tell.
