DEC.1.01 -  The band recently moved into a new practice room on Hollywood and Vine, and have been using that freedom to write new material and polish up the rest of the new songs.  A recent show at Goldfinger's was a success, drawing accolades by reps from Atlantic and Warner Brothers.  For the next few weeks, the band will be busy putting the finishing touches on their clandestine touring plans for the coming year.  For all the propaganda, check out the Manifesto.


NOV.6.01 - The Mimsies have decided to no longer use their guest list slots for the A&R community, who have more than enough money to pay the cover charges and only shows up 50% of the time anyway.  They will instead use them for the "super fans" and the Black Market Kids Street Team  who often share the same financial difficulties as The Mimsies, and show up 100% of the time.  Please read Casey's letter for more details.  If you would like to be included in this pot, please email us at themimsies@hotmail.com.


OCT.28.01 - The Mimsies will play an industry showcase at the Viper Room on Nov. 3rd at 9PM.  Among those included on the guest list are reps from Elektra, Atlantic, Maverick, & Pioneer, so please show your support and bring all your friends to raise some hell with us at the Viper Room.  9PM sharp!


OCT.26.01 - The Mimsies are working on a deal with Pioneer Music to license and distribute "Trash and Rock and Roll".  Pioneer currently is distributed by Koch, and would distribute the CD in the US and Canada.  The CD will be completely repackaged so order your copy now with the original art BEFORE it becomes a collector's item.


OCT.25.01 - The Mimsies will be holing up in Muddy Stardust's home studio to lay down demos for 8 new songs.  Yes boys and girls, "THE" Muddy from LA Guns and Col. Parker fame.  The lyrics have been posted for 4 of the new tunes, "Dirty", "Tennessee", "Somebody Else's News", and "Vain Glory".  Coming soon to the Music page will be demo and live versions of the new stuff.  


OCT.24.01 - The Mimsies will begin shooting the video for the title track, "Trash and Rock and Roll",  with Jonathan Long at the beginning of November.

All we can tell you at this point is that it includes the desert, 2 Harley's and a Porsche 911.    


OCT.20.01 -  "Cherry Cordial" will be featured in "Sinfully Sane", the up-coming independent film by Jovani Milton Prince.  Jovani, who produced, directed, and co-wrote the screenplay for "Sinfully Sane", also stars in the film.   Look for the "Sinfully Sane"  on the film festival circuit soon.


OCT.15.01 - The Mimsies will be working on three music video projects in the upcoming months.  One with Theron Fairchild, a second with Jonathan Long, and a third with Ivo Lopez.  Theron worked with the band on 3 promo videos edited from his hours of live, backstage, and interview footage, along with footage shot by Jonathan.  Ivo's name you might recognize from the credits in the T&R&R liner notes.   He photographed the band for the CD artwork including the cover shot of Casey's tattoo.  "Cherry Cordial", "Dirty",  and "Trash and Rock & Roll" will be the 3 tracks for the videos.


OCT.1.01 -  The Mimsies, fresh off inspirations and vacations, have begun putting the finishing touches on 7 new tunes they've written.  The inspirations we can't tell you about, but the vacations we can.  While Bryan and J-Rock drove the 22 hours back home to Oklahoma to enjoy friends, family, and birthdays, Casey flew to Nova Scotia to trace her Cajon roots with her mom and dad.  Be on the look out for demo versions of the new tunes on the Music page.


SEPT.22.01  -  The Mimsies are planning to hit the studio with producer Geza X at the controls to record the single "Dirty" in late November.

Written just before the US Tour, "Dirty" is a heavy, half-time, Black Crows / Verve kind of tune.  Southern rock if you ask Casey, Northern Soul if you ask Bryan.  Expect a live mp3 of the track on the music page coming from the Viper Room show on November 3rd.


SEPT.17.01 -  The Mimsies return home from the west coast tour a little bruised and battered.  After the events of September 11th the LA Guns tour slammed to a hault when the band, after flying to Alaska, found themselves stuck there with no flight home.   The Mimsies pressed on and finished out the tour at The Pound in San Fran.


SEPT.1.01 -  The Mimsies will launch an 8 date west coast tour with LA Guns on September 8th in Bend Oregon.  Filling in behind the drums will be Danny Martinez from Funktion.    Stops will include Boise, Portland, Fife, and San Fran.


AUG.2.01  -  The Mimsies return home triumphant from their first tour minus their drummer.  3 little Mimsies had the times of their lives and 1 little Mimsie went home.  Ed has decided that the rock and roll wasn't for him and has quit the band (with two shows left in the tour, which we had to cancel) and is moving back home to Okc.  We wish him the best.  Let the auditions begin.  Check out the No Cover article on the press page.


JUNE.15.01  -  On June 18th, The Mimsies will kick off their first US Tour in support of their new record at the Viper Room.  Their six week maiden voyage will include four dates on the Van's Warped Tour, eight dates on the Faster Pussycat / LA Guns Tour, and about 15 headlining club dates.  They'll trek from LA, up to Calgary, out to NYC, down to Nashville, and back to LA.


MAY.1.01  -  The Mimsies debut full-length CD "Trash and Rock and Roll" is complete and ready for order.  After a long 22 hour day in the studio, mixing wrapped up around 7:00 this morning.  The band is in a euphoric daze and will be unavailable for contact.  Check out the music page for mp3s and links.  CD release party will be May 30th at the Pretty Ugly Club at the Dragonfly.
