I became interested in fund raising when I saw the movie

"Hotel Rwanda." This movie is about the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. This is a true story about the Hutus slaughtering the Tutsi and how the World turned its back.  It also tells the story about a brave man named Paul Rusesabagina who saved thousands of Tutsi in his luxury hotel.   I got to meet Paul the summer of 2005.  When I met him in person I thought he was amazing!  I asked him if he could forgive the Hutus for murdering so many Tutsi. “We must forgive” was his reply.  I was inspired by the way Paul risked his life to save the Tutsi from the Hutus.  Paul told me about the Genocide   happening in the Darfur region of Sudan. My first fundraiser was to help the orphans of the Rwandan genocide.   I raised over $2,000!   I did another fundraiser to help the refugees of the Darfur region in Sudan. At this fund raiser I raised over $1,700!
