About Me

Dance Biodanza - with Mike Skilbeck

I am Mike Skilbeck, also known as Niraj, born in 1963 in London, but brought up in York from the age of 4. I was introduced to Biodanza in the summer of 1997 and completed the training programme under the tutelage of Patricia Martello and Marcelo di Matteo (Argentina) in the UK, who at that time were recognised by the world governing body, the International Biocentric Foundation, but now sadly, are not.

I have subsequently completed the Tutor Training and Didactic Tutor Training in order to run my own schools of Biodanza. I also have specialisation certificates to teach Biodanza and the Four Elements, The Minotaur project, Biodanza and Shamanism, AquaBiodanza, Biodanza for Children and the Argonaut Mission. I have worked with Rolando Toro directly on many occasions and have been involved in Biodanza in England, Scotland, France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Holland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Greece, Slovenia, New Zealand, South Africa and Brazil.

I am Treasurer of The Association of Biodanza Teachers UK, my second stint in this post, and was part of the organising committee for the First NW European Encounter of Biodanza held in Canterbury in June 2005. I have since organised and led several International Festivals of Biodanza in Dorset, where I live.

In 2008 I started the Dorset School of Biodanza, and have successfully completed the first cycle of the Teacher Training. I am involved in seeding Biodanza in the Czech Republic, making several trips a year there to establish it in a new country. 2010 saw me at established Festivals Buddhafield and Larmer Tree and I teach regularly all over England.
