I have taught political science courses at Gettysburg College, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth, and Towson University. The courses include: - Migration in International Relations
- Comparative Politics of the Middle East and North Africa
- Politics in the Middle East
- International Security
- Introduction to Comparative Politics
- Introduction to International Relations
- American Government
In my courses I emphasize the importance of student-led learning, guided research projects of the students' choosing, and structured debate. To encourage students' ownership of their learning, at the beginning of every semester the students discuss and come to a consensus on the weights applied to each component of the total course grade. In addition, students can earn course credit for real-world engagement
by volunteering for politically relevant organizations and activities
outside of class, either on campus or in the broader community. |
