My day job: 

For my day job, I work for the Commonwealth of Virginia at the Virginia Information Technologies Agency.  We call it VITA (pronounced VEE-ta).  Within VITA I work in the Information Technology Investments and Enterprise Solutions (ITIES) directorate in the Policy, Practice and Architecture (PPA) division.   My title is Enterprise Architect.  Right now I am involved with developing, editing, publishing the Enterprise Information Architecture for the Commonwealth. It is modeled after the Federal Data Reference Model.  I am also involved with several Telework committes and a Pandemic Flu Preparedness committee for our agency.  If you are interested in EA and what we are doing, visit our home page.  If you have some good resource info on Telework or Telecommuting, I would love to hear from you.  You can contact me at mike.hammel@gmail.com.  I don't check this address as often as I should (it doesn't get much traffic) so please be patient.  If you want me bad enough, look me up on the Virginia state employee directory.  (I prefer not to put my work or personal address on this web site for obvious anti-spamming reasons.)
