Veterinary Radiology

 

Teleradiology is the process of sending radiologic images from one point to another through digital, computer-assisted transmission. Through teleradiology, images can be sent to another part of the hospital, or around the world.

Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Radiology provides fast reading services to the veterinarians equipped with any sort of DICOM compatible imaging unit, whether it be digital radiography, computed radiography, CT, MRI or ultrasonography. More information on teleradiology and digital imaging here.  

Once your hospital is set up (a very simple procedure) you will be ready to up-load imaging studies to our remote server and the radiologists will receive an email alert. They will be able to download the studies on their computer and then a detailed report with the findings, conclusions and recommendations will be sent to you once completed (usually less than 24 hours) via email and fax.   

We also accept regular film radiographs sent to us via mail. Also, although not optimal, it is possible to take digital pictures of your radiographs and email them to us for interpretation. High quality images should be obtained though. You can find tips on how to take good quality digital images of your films here.
