Center for High-Energy Metaphysics

The Center for High-Energy Metaphysics in Bloomington has morphed into a real university center, the Center for Theoretical Inquiry in the Humanities. By 2008, the little reading group that my friend Jonathan Elmer and I had started a few years earlier and that we took to calling the Center for High-Energy Metaphysics, had acquired enough real energy that we thought it was ready to give it an institutional form. In the Fall of 2010, the new center open its virtual doors. It is better in every way except its name. If you are in the Bloomington area and like working on the foundational texts of phenomenology, ontology, political theory, aesthetics, and general metaphysics, consider joining us. Our discussions tend to be heterodox and intense.

See here for a sample of activities in past years. For more information about the Center, contact the co-chairs, Michel Chaouli and Jonathan Elmer.
