8 expats abducted in Nigeria.

(Someone who someone else once patted

has been drawn to someone else.)

 

Eight foreign workers

have been kidnapped from an offshore oil rig in Nigeria.

 

That is what the BBC says

And we have no reason to disbelieve the BBC.

 

I have no reason to believe them either.

 

The Nigerian military said

armed men had abducted six Britons,

one Canadian

 

and an American.

 

Somehow, we feel sorry for the Canadian.

 

Security sources say the rig sent out a distress call,

saying it had come under attack by about 20 to 30 armed men in speedboats,

and I’m thinking of some 007 movie

where James

boards the rig,

while offshore Harleys menace the surf.

 

Dark glasses.

Bad tattoos.

 

What is this life

where we hear real screams,

peel real bloodclots

and dodge real bullets

long after they have passed?
