The expedition everest ride is a new edition at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
On the second day of our trip Arin and I headed over to Animal
Kingdom to ride the new everest ride. This is the first day that
my foot was blown out and it was really hurting a lot. I was limping
though Animal Kingdom and Arin noticed that i was limping and started
laughing at me. She said I was walking like mom does when she
gets a blown out foot. We were on a little bridge where you see
Mt. Everest and she was laughing so hard that I thought she was going
to wet her pants. She took the picture on the right from that bridge.
I got her to keep moving though and we tried to get to the everest ride by taking a short cut through dinoland. When we got to dinoland we were really moving, and a cast member stopped us. She told us that they mountain was closed right now, and they didn't know if it would be open later or not. We were kind of disappointed, but we went and rode "Dinosaur" which is a really good ride (Arin screamed the entire time). We got off Dinosaur and hobbled over to the lady again who told us that the mountain was open. We had to grab fast passes for it because there was kind of a long line. While waiting for our fast pass time we rode some rapids ride that got us pretty soaking wet. Arin claims a gush of water went straight down her sleeve and made her whole arm cold. Finally, we rode everest. We rode in the very back car and it was a lot of fun. It's a neat combination of show and roller coaster. Again, Arin screamed during the entire ride.
On our last day of the trip we went back to Animal Kingdom to ride everest and dinosaur again. As we were walking into the park Arin said, "Uh oh."
I said, "What?"
She replied, "We gotta find a bathroom."
"Let's grab an Everest Fast Pass then you can go to the bathroom during the wait. Can you make it?"
She groaned, "Yeah I think so."
So we ran over the everest and she was moaning the whole way, we
grabbed a fast pass, but noticed that there was only a 5 minute wait.
She said she could ride it once then go straight to the bathroom. We
walked right into the ride area, and waited for the very front seat.
It was a really cool ride (Arin screamed the entire time), the front is
a lot of fun.
After
that ride we walked out of the gift shop and the wait time was still
only 5 minutes, so we decided to ride it again. Arin talked about
taking a picture on the ride and how she was going to do it the entire
time we were in line. We stopped and took a picture of a Yeti
raveged tent in line so that we could tell people it was our tent, and
we had a stranger behind us in line take our picture in front of a
little wooden idol thing. I also got Arin's picture by a map of
the Himalayas. All of which you can see directly above.
Right
before we got on the train, Arin groaned a little and said, "Oh, I
forgot to go to the bathroom." She said that she'd go as
soon as we got off the ride this time. We rode in the very back
and Arin took her picture of the Yeti tapestry that is displayed on the
first hill. The ride in the back of the train was pretty fun too, but
this ride was a little herky-jerky, they were having some problems and
kept stalling us at brake points. It was a little odd. Arin
screamed for the entire ride, except the points where we were stalled.
Well we got off the ride and out of the gift shop and the wait was still only 5 minutes so we decided that we better ride it again. Arin, said that she'd have to use the bathroom after this ride no matter what. The line took a little longer this time and we found the hidden mickey ears in the line, and Arin chattered non-stop about taking a picture of the broken tracks. We decided that we needed to ride in the very front again to decide whether or not it was more fun than the back. Arin took a lot of pictures on this ride, she was really excited about it. She screamed through the entire ride. The resulting pictures are below.
After
we got off the ride we saw that the wait was 15 minutes, so Arin
finally went to the bathroom. I sat down and waited for her. I waited
about 20 minutes until she finally came back. We used our fast
pass for the final ride, where we rode in the back again, and Arin
screamed for the entire ride.
