Every chess player needs to keep practicing to help improve their chess. Tactics training, learning openings and endgames, studying past games and solving puzzles are all great ways of bettering one's play. Another system is solve non-chess puzzles and play non-chess games. By non-chess I mean puzzles or positions that could not arise under normal playing conditions.
