www.chess.com - a superb correspondence and live chess site.  Very cheap to become a member and lots of features, including blogs, forums, and tools for uploading games.
 
www.chessboss.com - a growing site where you can play chess and read articles.
 
www.chesscube.com - one of the best new chess sites on the web.
 
www.chesspodcasts.blogspot.com - my weekly video chess podcast site.  Lots of viewers and interesting blogs.
 
www.chessvideos.tv - a great resource and libary of review and discussion, and of course lots of chess videos.

www.gambitbooks.com - the site of Gambit Publications where some of the best books for chess beginners and club-level players can be found.
 
www.instantchess.com - a great site for correspondence and instant games.  You can play as a visitor or pay to join as a member.  They also have a viewer site which is nice to watch.
 
www.jrobichess.com - a chess site containing videos, blogs, reviews, a forum and many useful links.  A must visit for chess fans.
 
www.kelownachess.blogspot.com - blogspot and video chess podcast, usually analysing or playing (then analysing) full games.  Interesting and useful.
 
www.letsplaychess.com - correspondence and live chess site, with forums, tutorials and more.  Affiliated with King Crusher, who posts videos at www.youtube.com/kingscrusher (which I also recommend).

www.queenalice.com - brilliant free website, for correspondence chess.  The one I use most often.  Free and full of stuff!
 
www.redhotpawn.com - great name for a chess site!  Correspondence site, with plenty of tournaments and members.  Free limited membership available.
 
www.schemingmind.com - a correspondence site run by Atherton Chess Club, where Nigel Short learnt to play.  You can play LOTS of variants here.
 
www.tartajubow.blogspot.com - great blog, updated regularly be a very knowledgeable and likeable player.  Videos, PDFs, analysis, etc.
 
www.tigerchess.com - The website of Nigel Davies GM.  Interesting blogs and discussions.
