In Memory of Edward F. Scott

Edward and I met on a bike trip in 1973.  We began playing music together the next year, and our close friendship and musical partnership spanned four decades.
 
In addition to playing music, Edward was a fine photographer and sculptor.  Indeed, he was good at any task he set his mind to, creative and otherwise.

Chaos Rises Up CD release concert

At 8 PM on November 5 at the Moose Exchange in Bloomsburg, Mike will be playing with the Chaotic Band at a CD release party for Jeremy DePrisco's new album, Chaos Rises Up.  Mike contributed a (Jeff Beck inspired) guitar part to the song "Ones and Zeros" on Jeremy's album, which you can find through Napster and otehr online music services.

August 2010 benefit performance at the Bloomsburg Art Walk

The piano trio Negodniki (the Rascals) will perform at the Moose Exchange in Bloomsburg on Saturday, 21 August at 4 pm as part of the twice-annual Bloomsburg Art Walk.  Negodniki are:  Safa Sacacoglu on drums and percussion, John Huckans on piano, and Mike HIckey on guitar and bass.  Negodniki's set will include jazz standards by Thelonious Monk, Bill Evans and Dave Brubeck, as well as pop tunes by Stevie Wonder, the Beach Boys and the Beatles.

At the Bloomsburg Art Walk-In at the Moose Exchange, 18 February 2010, 8-9 pm.
 
If you are in Bloomsburg on Thursday evening, 18 February, stop by the new Moose Exchange (the former Moose Hall on Main Street).
 
There will be music to help celebrate the opening this new arts center. 
 
From 8 until 9, MH will be playing mandolin to accompany local singer-songwriter Jeremy DePrisco, and also will play a short solo set of instrumental jazz standards and blues.
 
It is free--you can't beat the admision price!  There will be food, and you'll get to see work by a whole lot of the areas most interesting visual artists.

On Saturday, 18 April, I will be playing a charity event at the Lightstreet Methodist Church (off Rt 487 north of Bloomsburg), beginning at 5:30.  The event is to raise funds for the Greenwood Friends School.
 
On Friday, 24 April, I will be playing a charity show at Harry's Bar and Grill on Main Street in Bloomsburg, beginning at 7 pm.  The show is to raise funds for PowerSurge, a student environmental organization.
