Esperti e relatori disponibili commentare sopra e rispondere alle edizioni che girano intorno all' umanismo, alla religione, all'etica ed alla società secolari La coltura fa la guerra circondando l'intersezione della religione, l'etica e la società continua a generare un gruppo di polemica. "il nuovo ateismo" è un termine generato dai giornalisti per descrivere la recente uscita di libri migliore-vendenti dai simili di Richard Dawkins, Daniel Dennett, il SAM Harris, Christopher Hitchens, il victor Stenger ed altri. Questi libri hanno disposto il soggetto di unbelief-una volta che considerato fuori-limite-anteriore e concentr nei mezzi popolari. Gli esperti al centro per l'inchiesta (CFI), sede del Consiglio per l'umanismo secolare, osservano questi libri come in gran parte responsabili di un dibattito culturale rinnovato ed arricchito.
I' umanismo secolare ora denominato scientifico, filosofico ed etico di prospettiva ha impiegato un'influenza profonda su civilizzazione dal mondo antico al presente. I'umanismo secolare è particolarmente relativo ai bisogni del nostro mondo sempre più secolare, perché rifiuta le spiegazioni supernaturali della realtà e cerca di ottimizzare la pienezza di vita umana in un universo naturalistico. Il termine non religioso può essere usato largamente per riferirsi a coloro a che non appartenga o che non identifichi con una denominazione o non sostengono credere che dentro Dio- possano essere agnostico, ateista, o scettico. Osservano alla scienza moderna, alla letteratura, alla filosofia, all'etica ed alle arti per ispirazione piuttosto che "i testi sacri religiosi tradizionali." Il Consiglio per l'umanismo secolare, alloggiato al centro per l'inchiesta pensa il carro armato, è un'organizzazione educativa senza scopo di lucro che rappresenta i punti di vista dei umanisti secolari, del agnostici, dei ateisti.
